Yes to marriage among humans

Once upon a time, a marriage contract was not a thing. Marriage deals were arranged in tribes, kingdoms and families. The legal contract became a need because the world is ever changing. Laws are being enacted to (among other things) promote order, rights to claims/properties and security among all of us humans. Denying people the right to marry is simply saying: You’re not human enough.

In some nations, kids are forced to get married. In others, drunk people exchange vows in circus ceremonies, then they get divorced after a few days. And despite having such incidents in their record, they are legally allowed to get married again!

Jesus said love everyone. Being a man of wisdom, if he had wanted to exclude anyone from the love, he would have clearly stated some exceptions. Seeing this love get trumped by self-righteousness and fear is one of the worst things in the world. It is funny how some agnostics and atheists are more capable of compassion and grace than some church people.

Humans of all genders are stealing money, working on bio-weapons and killing helpless innocents. We are doing horrible things to one another, sometimes inadvertently, sometimes deliberately. We -- all of us humans -- are making the world a messed up place. The resistance to embrace diversity is only one of the worst problems in this land.

I feel for all the men and women who have to go through gut-wrenching and awkward “confessions” about who they really are and who/what they really want. I can’t even stay in a job that I don’t really like. How much worse is it for those who can’t even live the life that is normal for them?

"Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good." One of the best gems of advice in the great book. ALL THINGS - written, unwritten, felt, witnessed and experienced.

God is making himself known through us. So it makes sense to test things – we wanna be able to reflect as much light as possible.

It does seem that the more people get married, the messier the world gets. One person is complicated enough; the union of two people living every single day in a small space cannot possibly work all the time. That said, marriage is not for everyone. And divorce should be legalized, but I digress.

I've seen what hate can do to people so I'm not going that route. I'm not telling friends and strangers they will not find peace in the afterlife because they didn't fit the boxes that other people used to define them. And I'm not saying there is afterlife, either; the topic is good for an entirely separate thinking-out-loud page.

Each of us is a dust-size life with only a spark of time in a massive, complex and ever-changing universe -- the entirety of which no man is likely to fully understand in one lifetime. Each of us is equally tiny in the cosmic scale. Insulting people over their nonconventional lifestyle and beliefs should be illegal on earth. It may be difficult for some people to understand let alone embrace the gays and give them equal legal rights, but it does not mean they should not be treated as if they are less human than others.
